September 30, 2015 Special Town Meeting to Address New School A Special Town Meeting will be held on Monday, October 26 to vote on the funding needed to construct the proposed new elementary school building. In May, voters authorized the $1.8 million needed to acquire the property, located at 135 Hayden Rowe, and now, after working to create a schematic design, the town must make a decision about allocating money to actually build the school. Because the proposed construction would be funded by a debt exclusion, appropriating the money to build the school requires a 2/3 vote at Special Town Meeting and an additional simple majority at the November 9 ballot election. Hopkinton Independent
